Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center is seeking a Biomedical Technician I to join our team. The Biomedical Technician I is responsible for maintenance and technical support functions for medical and scientific instrumentation, and to the users of this instrumentation.
Two years of occupationally specific education, or an associate degree in biomedical engineering or a closely related field and less than six months of previous experience.
No license, certification or registration required.
Analytical skills to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
Required Physical, Mental, and Visual Abilities
Occasional reaching and grasping objects.
Occasional use of keyboards to interact with computer system.
Proofreading and/or reviewing documents.
Work is generally performed throughout the hospital complex/campus, which may include exposure to extremes in heat/cold, odorous, possibly hazardous working conditions, depending upon the particular type of equipment serviced.
