This Point of Care Testing Coordinator will be responsible for:
Providing technical and management oversight of Point of Care Testing (POCT) to include the following:
Evaluating, validating, troubleshooting, and maintaining all Point of Care Testing.
Establishing, reviewing, and revising policies and procedures for the POCT program.
Ensuring that POCT meets all regulatory requirements for accreditation standards.
Following the guidelines related to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), designed to prevent or detect unauthorized disclosure of Protected Health Information (PHI).
Reviewing and evaluating all Quality Control. Ensuring that the test systems are functioning properly resolves technical problems and ensures that remedial/corrective actions are taken and documented as necessary.
Maintaining and monitoring comprehensive Quality Assurance and proficiency testing programs.
Developing, delivering, and participating in training, competency, and educational programs.
Maintaining working knowledge of infection control concepts, risk management, environmental safety, emergency preparedness, accident prevention, and disaster plans.
Effectively communicating, instructing and working with health care providers, patients, and vendors on issues such as test interpretation, recommendations for alternate testing, instrumentation, and problems with specimens/methodology.

To qualify, you must have:
Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Medical Lab Science, Plus 5 or more years clinical laboratory experience.
Expertise in focused discipline of laboratory medicine.
The analytical skills to collect information from diverse sources, apply professional principles in performing various analyses.
Summarizing the information and data in order to solve problems or design relatively complex systems and programs.
The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
National Certification Required.
