PPSAT is seeking a full-time Risk and Quality Management (RQM) Director to join our Compliance Team. In cooperation with the Vice President of Compliance (VPC), the RQM Director is responsible for developing, implementing and managing RQM activities across PPSAT's service region of 14 health centers throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia.
Develop, implement, monitor and report on PPSAT RQM annual work-plan, quality indicators, and schedule audits.
Develop audit tools and coordinate timely completion of audits and monitor the development of corrective actions plans, supporting health center staff meeting or exceeding the expected score based on PPSAT policy.
Advise on the timely completion of all Incident Reporting, tracking, trend analysis, and corrective action plans. This includes incidents and adverse events that PPSAT tracks and those that are reportable to Affiliates Risk Management Services (ARMS).
Participate in the development of changes to policies, procedures and tools to minimize risk and improve quality and safety wherever possible.
Prepare required PPSAT RQM Annual Plan on program accomplishments for presentation to affiliate senior leadership, the Board of Directors, and external reviewers/auditors.
Assist with developing, implementing, monitoring and report on PPSAT Infection Prevention Program, consistent with local, state, and national standards and regulations, including tools, resources needed for initial and ongoing staff training, competency evaluation and monitoring for compliance.
Develop and implement the requirements for the PPSAT Risk and Quality Management Binder. Monitor health center managers’ use and completion of the RQM Binder on a periodic basis.
Work with Patient Services Management to give input into the development and ongoing review of the following policy and procedure manuals, in compliance with PPFA medical standards and guidelines, ARMS guidelines, CLIA, OSHA, CDC and APIC standards, state Boards of Nursing, Medicine and Pharmacy regulations, and other local and state regulations, as applicable: PPSAT Medical Manual, PPSAT Infection Prevention Manual, PPSAT Laboratory Manual, PPSAT Emergency Care Manual, PPSAT Pharmacy Policies, and state-specific abortion regulations.
Act as a Risk and Quality Management resource for all staff to provide clarification and interpretation of departmental policies and procedures.
Monitor for health center and lab compliance with PPFA, ARMS, OSHA, CLIA, and State licensing requirements, including required policies, procedures, trainings, in- services, and reporting. Conduct AB inspection readiness assessment as close to the expected inspection date and conduct post-inspection visit if deemed necessary.
Along with VP of Compliance, coordinate Mid Cycle Self-Assessment (MCSA) and affiliate-wide preparation for PPFA Accreditation and compliance with Elements of Performance.
Assist the Privacy Officer in investigating reports of potential breaches of PHI and send required notifications after consultation with VP of Compliance.
Participate in planning for new medical services, products and programs as requested. Give input to AMD and the Organizational Development Department as requested on orientation to medical services for new clinicians, physicians, health center managers, including RQM training.
Assist with the development and maintenance of health center staff training resources. Provide medical staff training as needed.
Coordinate the RQM component of departmental meetings. Participate in Patient Services Management meetings, and other departmental meetings as needed such as Health Center Manager meetings and Clinician Workgroup meetings.
Ensure RQM Committees’ compliance with meeting frequency, accuracy and distribution of minutes as per PPFA accreditation and state abortion regulations.
Bachelor’s degree in related field from accredited college or university. Master’s degree in related field preferred.
Four to six years’ experience in a healthcare environment, preferably GYN/ Family Planning. Five to seven years’ experience preferred.
Demonstrated project management experience.
Proficiency in MS Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to effectively utilize clinical software programs for data entry and reporting.
