This company has a position for an IRB Operations Manager and is seeking an experienced PM professional to fill this space. The IRB Operations Manager oversees daily functions of IRB staff and electronic systems in addition to identifying opportunities for procedural improvement and helping the IRB Committees, investigators, and research teams.
Ensure consistent, timely and high-quality execution of IRB analyst workflows and deliverables by triaging studies submitted to the IRB, prioritizing and managing staff workloads; Monitor staff workloads daily, conduct regular meetings with IRB analysts to address and refine existing workflows, ensure consistency in workflows and ensure that required follow-up is executed, oversee training of new IRB staff, model positive, direct communication and conflict resolution, attend all IRB meetings and pre-review IRB meeting agendas and review IRB determination letters and minutes.
Maintain and update IRB Committee member records, Board rosters, and FWA.
Ensure timeliness of annual member evaluation process, manage the appointment/reappointment process.
Provide quality customer service and consultancy to all constituents by reinforcing expectations for customer service and consultancy, getting feedback from constituents, providing guidance to staff in complex cases, and assisting staff in resolving complaints.
Collaborative management of IRB operations with Director of Research Regulatory Affairs and Education and Accreditation Manager, meet regularly with Director and Education and Accreditation Manager, inform IRB team members of changes in policy and procedures, serve as back-up to Education and Accreditation Lead on other delegated projects (e.g., AAHRPP annual report preparation, Human Subjects Protections Training for research community, etc.), utilize IRB metrics reporting software to enhance IRB operations, develop agendas for staff meetings, provide project management support for oversight of eIRB system contractors, support development of eIRB system manual revisions and development of FAQs and educational materials as required
Preparation of reports from IRB database and records as requested
Conduct testing and implementation of upgrades to IRB system
At least 3years in IRB/research administration, regulatory experience required.
Expertise in scientific/medical terminology as well as ability to analyze and comprehend research.
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required, or equivalent work experience in IRB office. Master’s Degree preferred.
Demonstrated interest in ethics preferred.
Demonstrated ability to make technical presentations to knowledgeable audiences.
Ability to handle and always maintain confidential information.
