JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Data Analyst assists faculty member with the literature review, data analysis, manuscript and report preparation, and other miscellaneous tasks mainly for a few projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducts data quality investigations as appropriate.
Obtains, prepares, and analyzes data set, including standard and novel methods for testing disparities related to the eligibility criteria for Medicare medication, therapy management services, and other research topics.
Consults the Principal Investigator on specific methods as appropriate.
Conducts literature search on topics related to projects.
Remains up-to-date regarding research field.
Summarizes findings from literature search.
Report, publication, and proposal preparation and other tasks.
Assists the Principal Investigator as necessary in developing training materials, documents for programs, data quality reports and related deliverables.
Assists the Principal Investigator to prepare manuscripts and reports.
Performs other duties and tasks as necessary.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Epidemiology, biostatistics, or equivalent required (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED). Master’s Degree Preferred.
EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of experience in data analysis. Previous research experience of two years is preferred. Demonstrated experience in analysis of large, complex databases is preferred. Strong quantitative analytic skills, including proficiency with SAS and STATA procedures and programming language, with attention to program quality and meaningful documentation. Excellent attention to details. Experience in analyzing survey questionnaire data or other similar data. Good oral and written communications skills for technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment with minimum supervision. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Familiarity with regressions with qualitative dependent variables such as ordered logistic regression and regular logistic regression. Previous publications in scientific journals are preferred. Conference presentation experience preferred.
