Our Sr Risk and Patient Safety Consultant will be an expert in current trends and innovation in risk management and will share that knowledge with clients and our internal teams through risk management projects, advice, and education.
As our Sr Risk and Patient Safety Consultant, you will be responsible for building personal relationships with clients through risk management service with the goal of retaining business. As a trusted expert in risk management, this position provides consultation, action-planning, tools, and education. This role will also coach clients on adverse events including examining culture, conducting appropriate investigations, communicating with patients and families, and healing teams. This is a remote-work position covering UMIA clients located in the Mountain West.

You will be responsible for:
Taking ownership of client relationships and host regular round table conference calls, group goal setting, and group education sessions
Serving as primary service contact and consultant for customer in the Mountain West region
Visiting high-value clients to conduct assessments and identify areas for improvement
Collaborating with the risk and patient safety team to create tools, resources, and education programs that provide value to customers
Working with clients to address issues in patient safety, risk management, and adverse event management
Delivering tools, resources, and education programs to customers
Looking for opportunities to deliver risk management education to clients and at state, regional, or national conferences
Collaborating with claim team on customer issues, situations appropriate for apology and early resolution, and working with customers on strategies for prevention
Supporting the client acquisition team as needed, including helping connect with clients at trade shows or attending meetings with important prospects
Bachelor's or better in Health Administration or related field required
PHD or better in Law or related field preferred
Ability to research, develop, ad create innovative and professional content
Ability to evaluate adverse events in healthcare
Ability to assess risk in healthcare and pushing forward patient safety initiatives and education
Ability to work with risk management, claim management, or proactive claim prevention
