Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program Director
The Program Director is responsible for the structure as well as the daily operation of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program, including organization, administration, periodic review and evaluation, continued development, and general effectiveness of program curricula. The Program Director ensures that the effectiveness of all clinical affiliates/clinical education centers is maintained. The Program Director is responsible for meeting all applicable accreditation commission standards and agency regulations as well as maintaining compliance with CURE policies and procedures. The Program Director provides collaborative leadership to faculty within the discipline(s) of a given instructional Department and serves as the liaison between department faculty and administrative staff.
Directs the daily operation of the ultrasound program. Maintains accreditation status, implements the approved curriculum and prepares the self-study, annual report, and assessment of program outcomes. Recruits and maintains clinical affiliates to accommodate the student population. The Program Director is responsible for managing the curriculum, instruction, student success, retention, scheduling, and ensuring compliance with all Federal, State and accreditation standards. Maintains teaching abilities through continuing education for all required courses in the program. Assists the recruitment, admissions, and student services as requested.
Responsibilities and Duties
Enhance department’s curriculum and oversee new development
Assist Admissions with Product Knowledge
Implement retention programs
Develop and maintain quality and stability of instructors
Work with instructors and students to maximize student’s readiness for placement
Stay informed of industry standards and incorporate into program offerings accordingly
Ensure faculty are engaged in ongoing professional development annually
Oversees the student evaluation process
Host weekly meeting
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Understanding of educational environments including needs of adult learners
Ability to provide a positive and effective learning environment
Knowledge and understanding of professional career paths for which students are enrolled
Motivation, dedication and enthusiasm for teaching
Technical/Equipment: General knowledge of professional equipment for the modality of the program of hire.
Computer literate with a working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.
General knowledge of recording and projection equipment.
Credentials and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a related subject area required from an accredited college
At least eight (8) years of experience as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
At least 4 years of direct supervisory experience to lead our ABHES accredited team
Good organizational and communication skills
Licensure/Certification/Registration: National Registry ARDMS
Basic Life Support certified trainer a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $60,000.00 to $80,000.00 /year
ARDMS, CCI and or ARRT Registered. REQUIRED Multiple registries preferred.
Teaching and/or supervisory experience preferred
