The 340B Pharmacy Coordinator is responsible for the management of Northside's 340b drug discount program, including oversight of drug purchasing, inventory processes, dispensing patterns, monthly reporting on savings opportunities, split billing software maintenance, and all areas of program compliance. As a member of the Pharmacy management team, collaborates with staff and leadership to plan, organize and operate the department to achieve unit and organizational goals, meet customer needs and assure high quality services and products.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage drug selection, procurment, inventory control, and coordination of the 340B program.
Maintain system databases to reflect changes in the drug formulary or product specifications.
Manage purchasing, receiving and inventory control processes. Continuously monitor product min/max levels to effectively balance product availability and cost efficient inventory control. Assure appropriate safeguards and system integrity. Perform annual inventory and monthly cycle counts.
Assure compliance with 340B program requirements of qualified patients, drugs and locations.
Review and refine monthly 340B cost savings reports detailing purchasing, and replacement practices, as well as dispensing patterns.
Monitor ordering processes, integrating most current pricing from wholesaler. Analyze invoices, shipping, and inventory processes.
Monitor and effectively operationalize any changes or modifications to program regulatory requirements.
Interact with others with a variety of developmental and sociocultural backgrounds.
Maintain professional relationships and convey relevant information to other members of the health care team within facility and any applicable vendors.
Initiate communication with peers about priorities.
Relay information appropriately over telephone, pagers, and other communication devices.
Works collaboratively with a broad cross-section of executives, managers, professional and technical staff to achieve results.
Accept assignments based on needs and the qualifications and competencies of self and of other staff members.
Work closely with other staff, co-workers, peers and other members of the health care team to ensure a positive and effective work environment.
Report to appropriate personnel regarding assignments, projects, etc.
Initiate problem-solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with peers.
Attend staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education.
Contribute to annual reviews of peer performance as requested by the unit/area supervisor, manager, or director.
Assist in the development of indicators, thresholds, study methods, and data collection as assigned.
Respond to problems/opportunities to improve care/customer service.
Apply a high degree of analytical, interpretive and evaluative skills, frequently dealing with complex concepts and imaginative approaches to problem definition and resolution.
Participate in and maintain competencies required for the position and specific unit/area(s) of assignment.
Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.
Three years hospital Pharmacy experience.
Apexus 340B ACE Certification a plus.
License/Certification Requirements: Yes
Work Hours: 8a-4:30p

Organizational skills to meet deadlines and adapt to department needs.
Self-motivated; ability to work well with teams.
Experience/skill with Personal Computers.
Experience/skill with spreadsheets and other accounting applications (Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
Excellent communication skills to include oral and written comprehension and expression.
