The Quality Improvement Specialist uses performance improvement and quality management skills and knowledge to collect and analyze data, prepare reports, and present data. Interacts with all Southern Mono Healthcare District departments. Assists in identifying, prioritizing, and coordinating safety and Quality Improvement opportunities within the organization. Supports the monitoring and evaluation of quality improvement activities. Assists in the on-going assessment of the organization's status of compliance with regulatory agencies including the DNV-GL, California Department of Public Health (DPH), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), ISO 9001, and other external entities as appropriate. Participates in quality improvement activities and provides education regarding the tools and techniques of quality improvement. The Quality Improvement Specialist has accountability for the monitoring, implementation and evaluation of process and programs to meet regulatory, accreditation and standards of practice.
What You'll Do:
Work collaboratively with other departments to track and improve quality organization-wide.
Implement interventions to improve the patient experience.
Lead the Patient and Family Advisory Council and the Improving Patient Experience Committee.
Analyze data and identify opportunities for improvement.
Coordinate projects to maintain our ISO certification, such as internal auditing.
Assist in monitoring regulatory and accreditation requirements and assuring compliance.
Assist with coordination and implementation of special projects (Beta Healthcare initiatives).
Provide content in the education and training of programs supporting performance improvement.
Bachelors degree required.
Registered Nurse license preferred.
Two years' experience in an acute care or healthcare organization setting required.
Experience in Performance Improvement in an acute care hospital or healthcare organization setting preferred.
Prior experience in analysis of clinical data preferred.
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or equivalent within 2 years of hire.
