Seeking experienced full-time clinical research coordinators to conduct clinical trials in Multiple Sclerosis and/or Epilepsy populations through the Department of Neurology at URMC.
Recruits, consents, and schedules research subject visits for complex studies (i.e., industry-sponsored clinical drug trials involving greater risk to subjects) in accordance with study protocol, coordinating these visits with the Principal Investigator. Works with multidisciplinary teams for the provision of additional needed resources to conduct study procedures. Ensures patient clinical care resources for appropriate management of study subjects (25%)
Responsible for performing study visits in accordance with research protocols including activities such as vital signs, EKGs, blood draws, cognitive assessments, and other protocol-specific tasks (25%)
Oversees and manages the regulatory affairs for multiple research studies including regulatory binders, IRB applications and amendments, and study monitoring visits (20%)
Serves as the liaison between cross-functional research team, study sponsors, and IRB to facilitate communication, resolves issues, and enhance collaboration. (15%)
Manages databases for research studies including sponsor EDC and resolution of queries, as well as managing participant status, appointments, and billing inquiries in electronic medical record (10%)
Demonstrates accountability for continuous learning related to clinical research including staying current with institutional policies, standard operating procedures, and Good Clinical practice guidelines (5%)
Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in human subject research coordination; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Phlebotomy certification highly preferred
Professional research coordinator certification (e.g., SoCRA or ACRP) preferred
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and electronic data capture (EDC) software preferred
Must have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills.
