We are seeking an Export Control Compliance Specialist - This position coordinates the enterprise-wide export control program for Nationwide Children’s Hospital to ensure compliance with federal export control regulations.
The Export Compliance Specialist will serve as the central hub overseeing activities across multidisciplinary stakeholders within Research Administration, Investigators, Human Resources, Legal, Accounting, Corporate Compliance, Safety, Technology Commercialization and Purchasing. These departments are directly or indirectly involved in the export of materials, services, transfers of technical data, employment of foreign nationals and licensing.
Responsibilities include serving as the resource for education, data management and support (intranet site, written communications) necessary for NCH to remain within compliance.

What Will You Be Doing?
With guidance and in conjunction with Export Control Stakeholders, understand, develop and maintain an export control program to ensure compliance with EAR, ITAR, OFAC, FCPA and other applicable policies and regulations.
Evaluate and identify materials and documentation against the Department of Commerce and Department of State controlled technology list and coordinate the information with Safety, Purchasing and Legal as new trends emerge.
Serves as a liaison and prepares communications with federal agencies in conjunction with the Director, Corporate Compliance and the NCH Legal Team.
Supports and Coordinates with Human Resources, Legal, Safety in the assessment of job duties and access for international students, new hires, transfers in relation to export controlled items or technologies.
Maintains database of controlled items, international shipments and its required documentation.
What Are We Looking For?
To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess these minimum qualifications and experience:
Bachelor's Degree required.
Previous experience in Export or Import Control Regulations, OFAC, ITAR, Departments of State and Commerce.
U.S. Citizenship is required because this position must be able to receive and evaluate export-controlled information restricted from disclosure to a non-U.S. person.
Demonstrated customer service orientation, ability to interact and provide training to a wide variety of individuals within a diverse environment.
Strong computer skill with email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
