The City's commitment to sustainable, efficient transportation initiatives has prompted the addition of a Senior Transportation Planner – Engineer position. The successful candidate will create and maintain an effective, comprehensive Traffic and Multi-Modal Program, reliant on the establishment of collaborative relationships with regional partners to help develop strategies to minimize the impact of commuter traffic. The City is recruiting for a new Public Works Director that will join the newly appointed City Administrator and recently hired City Engineer; the Senior Transportation Planner/Engineer will be joining our team during an exciting climate for change management and implementation of new ideas.

TRAINING: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation, Urban Planning or Transportation Engineering or closely related field. Master's degree preferred. EXPERIENCE: Five years of experience in professional transportation engineering or planning with management of projects experience. Certification as a Professional Engineer or A.I.C.P. preferred; will allow a year to obtain either or certifications or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence that the applicant possesses the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
