The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Department of Family and Community Medicine is seeking to hire energetic faculty to join our talented team. Our department is committed to continuous improvement in patient care, education, research, and service. We have several opportunities available in primary care, sports medicine, and student health.
Aside from direct patient care, faculty will have the opportunity to pursue academic interests such as the following: •Teach a variety of courses within the medical school curriculum •Educate learners within our 12-12-12 (and growing) residency program and our fellowships, including Sports Medicine. •Conduct research within an institution that exceeded $527 million in grant funding in FY18, and includes potential collaborators such as Precision Medicine, the Center for Exercise Medicine, Preventive Medicine, the Lakeshore Foundation, and others •Contribute to our expertise in Value-Based Care, Leadership in Medicine, Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS), Digital Health & Analytics, and Lifestyle & Exercise Medicine

Consideration will be given to board-certified MDs and/or DOs for full-time and part-time positions. Positions are twelve-month, non-tenure earning faculty positions. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Required Qualifications for Assistant Professor Rank: MD or DO, board-certified in Family Medicine; Alabama medical licensure; credentialing for hospital privileges and outpatient provider.
Required qualifications for Associate Professor Rank: Meet Assistant Professor qualifications above; service as Assistant Professor for at least 3 years at UAB or equivalent service elsewhere; demonstrate ability to make significant contributions in academic duties. Such contributions should be of high quality and nationally recognized. Show promise of continued professional growth.
