About the Role:
We are looking for experienced Quality Engineers to join our teams in our Medical Products Division, Fabrics Division, Performance Solutions Division (PSD), and Core Technology in Elkton, Maryland. Our PSD products span industries such as aerospace, automotive, mobile electronics, and oil & gas, as well as pharmaceutical and biotechnology applications. Our Core Technology teams partner with our three divisions to deliver innovative polymer solutions for their end product. As a Quality Engineer at Gore, you will be involved in the hands-on evaluation of materials, designs, processes, tests and products throughout the life cycle of products that Improve Life. You will play an integral part in ensuring our innovative products perform as promised, time and time again.
Assuring product quality across the supply chain by evaluating non-conforming material, identifying and resolving quality issues, and driving process/product changes
Partnering cross-functionally, both internally and externally, to understand fitness-for-use requirements and driving the specification development of new and derivative products
Evaluating, selecting, and validating components and materials from various potential supply sources
Driving risk-based decision making based on deep technical and historical knowledge
Identifying and monitoring key product performance measures and driving improvement
Developing test methods and fixtures to evaluate components, product designs, and materials
Validating test methods and products, and developing visual standards and sampling plans
Designing, executing, and analyzing experiments based on statistical techniques
Documenting work via reports, technology notebooks, and the quality system
Gaining an understanding of product processing and manufacturing
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or science field and solid knowledge of engineering fundamentals
A minimum of 3 years of direct hands-on experience in a quality, process, product, or manufacturing engineering role post-graduation
Experience with hands-on product, test method, process or equipment validations
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Initiate, prioritize, drive to completion, and concurrently manage multiple products and projects
Successfully interact with cross-functional teams, communicate effectively, and influence others as well as work independently
Build depth in product knowledge across the supply chain
Ability to apply statistical analysis to trending, improvements, and troubleshooting
Experience driving support to quality processes (for example, product surveillance, assessing product complaints, non-conformance, CAPA, change management, field events, risk management, audits, complaints, etc.)
Experience transitioning new products to manufacturing
General understanding of quality systems, documentation, and methodologies (for example, GMP, ISO 9001, APQP, House of Quality, etc.)
