This Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Six Sigma Specialist provides support to the Engineering functions, and Supply Chain by participating in problem-solving and process improvement activities with an emphasis on Zero Defect tools, PPAP, Six Sigma tools, lean practices, and statistical process control. The selected candidate will utilize supplier and customer escapes, as well as Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) data to recommend and implement corrective actions and preventive activities.
Job Core Responsibilities
Complete 8D reports, PFMEAs, and control plans with a high level of accuracy.
Responsible for overseeing and/or preparing required documentation for PPAP submissions to customers.
Supports and leads the implementation of APQP on NPI programs to ensure quality is driven into the process and aligned to customer expectations.
Train personnel to execute flawlessly in 8D, PPAP documents.
Work with quality engineering in completing gauge R&Rs and assist in closing gaps.
Perform Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and utilize Six Sigma tools to ensure identifying robust solutions.
Understand SPC and implement control charts for key processes to reduce process variation.

Analysis of variance, DOE and hypothesis testing
Estimation and confidence intervals
Familiar with Minitab or other statistical software.
Understanding of probability and other statistical processes
Education: Bachelor degree in Engineering, Statistics, or related field is required
Certification: Six Sigma – Black Belt
Years of experience: 2-6 years of relevant experience
Excellent ability to apply a systematic and analytical approach to problem-solving
Ability to interpret internal/external business challenges and make recommendations for improvements to products, processes or services
Ability to explain a range of complex technical information
Demonstrated analytical skills to proactively identify and solve problems
Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and Failure Mode Effects Analysis
