Qualifications: Outstanding candidates are invited to apply for a tenure-track faculty position in Nutrition Sciences. Candidates must have an earned doctorate degree in Nutrition Sciences or closely related field, and be a Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Baylor is seeking applicants with a funded research agenda, advancement through faculty ranks, and a strong teaching record in higher education. Desired candidates have significant research and teaching accomplishments addressing the role of nutrition in global or community health in regard to health risk mitigation with a strong publication record and history of external funding. Successful teaching experience in higher education and a demonstrated collaborative working style (strong communication and interpersonal skills) with faculty and students are expected. The following are desirable qualifications for the position: professional experience in nutrition/food sciences; active participation in organizations for food/nutrition professionals; supervision of graduate and undergraduate student research; collaborations with health-related agencies.
Responsibilities: Responsibilities of the individual who holds this position will include maintaining a strong, funded research agenda with scholarly publications in Nutrition Sciences, Dietetics and other peer-reviewed journals. Teaching of undergraduate and/or graduate classes in areas such as advanced nutrition, lifecycle nutrition, global nutrition, macro/micro nutrients and medical nutrition therapy is expected in support of degrees in Nutrition Sciences. The candidate must demonstrate competency working with graduate Nutrition and Dietetics students in directing and conducting research. Lastly, additional responsibilities will include mentoring students, participating in relevant professional activities, and providing service to the university, community, and profession.
