Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions currently has an opportunity for a full - time Data Center Construction Manager in northern Virginia. The Data Center Construction Manager will serve as the owner’s representative and work directly with the project manager to ensure the delivery of a new data center facility.
General responsibilities include monitoring and refining short - term and long - range plans from the General Contractor and associated subcontractors, verifying day - to - day activities meet safety and quality requirements, tracking actions to closure, coordinating across multiple stakeholders to maintain the flow of information, and assisting in identifying and mitigating cost and schedule risk.
Monitor the execution of the project scope from preconstruction, construction, and close - out
Inspect project work to contract and design standards
Oversee quality delivery, including the setup of QA / QC procedures, management of non - conformance reports and resolution, and verification of all testing and commissioning requirements
Engage in site safety and actively promote delivery of a safe facility though your own actions and mentoring onsite personnel
Identify project objectives and milestones; monitor the development and implementation of action plans and schedules by the General Contractor and their sub - tier vendors and consultants
Support the change management process in providing clarification and guidance on questions regarding scope, justification, and technical detail
Manage approved changes for field implementation
Identify and assist in the mitigation of project risks and monitor the development and implementation of corrective action plans
Establish, coordinate, and attend / conduct all necessary project meetings
Prepare weekly and monthly reports covering scope, budget and overall project status
Ensure all required project documentation is completed in a timely manner and is maintained in the appropriate master project files inclusive of all reports, logs, submittals, RFIs, specifications & drawings, correspondence and other relevant documentation
Inspect and manage construction logistics, procurement, and supply chain management, including Owner Furnished Contractor Installed equipment
Skills / Qualifications
10+ years of construction management / site superintendent experience on multi - group, multi - disciplinary, projects; mission critical facility experience desired
OSHA 30 - hour certification
Knowledgeable in major regulations, industry codes and standards as well as construction materials, means, and methods
Master Electrician, Plumber, ASHRAE, or Certified Construction Manager certifications a plus
