Taylor Engineering, Inc. is actively seeking a driven Mid-LevelEngineer/Project Manager with 5-10 years of experience to work in our growing Sarasota, Florida office location. This position will support our interdisciplinary coastal, waterfront, water resources, and environmental team members.
Duties and Responsibilities
Effectively execute and manage coastal, marine, and estuarine projects with a high-level understanding of the principals and practices of coastal engineering, coastal hydrodynamics, sediment transport, environmental restoration, coastal management, dredging and navigation.
Perform complex engineering calculations and modeling for the design or analysis of projects in coastal environments.
Coordinate and prepare environmental permit applications and other regulatory approvals for coastal and marine related projects – specifically with FDEP, USACE, and Water Management Districts.
Prepare and oversee staff preparation of technical submittals including letters, technical reports, figures, and tables.
Prepare cost and project estimates, project budgets, and schedules.
Apply exceptional interpersonal skills to manage projects and work with a diverse team of project professionals.
Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of the coastal engineering work.
Prepare final plans, technical specifications, and design reports for client approval.
Plan, schedule and conduct construction administration services for projects.
Effectively communicate with various municipality, utility, and government regulating agencies.
Bachelor of Engineering in Civil, Coastal, Ocean, or Environmental Engineering or other applicable engineering discipline; preferably with master’s degree in Civil or Coastal Engineering.
Relevant Experience: 5-10 years in coastal or marine engineering with demonstrable project experience in one or more of the following: dredging and navigation; marine structures; coastal management; shoreline stabilization; regulatory permitting in the State of Florida; and/or construction administration.
Registration: Florida Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to prepare effective written technical report documents.
Must be well-organized with the ability to multi-task.
Possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and spot issues in complex technical, scientific, abstract information, designs, and diagrams.
Energetic, detail-oriented team player.
Lifting up to (35) pounds unassisted
Sitting for extended periods of time
Possesses acceptable vision (with or without corrective lenses) to be able to see and navigate a computer screen
Ability to conduct field and construction site visits.
