The Security Dispatch Supervisor reports directly to the Director of Security and Emergency Management. Under general direction from the Director, the position supervises the daily operations and activities of the Security Dispatchers in support of the Capital Metro Security Department.
Direct, assign, and monitor the performance of job tasks of Security Dispatchers.
Responsible for the full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and discipline.
Compile and prepare shift activity reports to track operational activities and personnel.
Coordinate the flow of work from one shift to another.
Monitor operations of all dispatch and related security technology systems and equipment, notifying appropriate personnel of inoperative equipment or other problems.
Assist in the resolutions of difficult or complex calls.
Operate communications equipment in monitoring and determining the exact nature of each request for service.
Assess current security radio channel use, officer dispatch process and security channel communications.
Be responsible in maintaining a safe working environment at all times.
Support Capital Metro’s safety culture by following safety and security policies, considering safety in every action and reporting safety and security concerns.
Perform other duties as required and/or assigned in support of Capital Metro Strategic Goals and the Vision, Mission, and Objectives aligned to these goals.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED.
Three (3) years’ experience as a telecommunications operator/dispatcher including one (1) year experience in a lead or supervisory capacity.
Two (2) years’ experience supporting dispatch technology systems and using Computer Aided Dispatch.
