The University of Michigan Addiction Treatment Center (UMATS) is seeking a full-time clinical-track Addiction Psychiatrist to join its faculty. UMATS is a team-based outpatient addiction treatment program that delivers a wide-array of evidence based treatment for patients with addiction and other mental health disorders. This position involves delivery of clinical care and education in our Addiction Psychiatry Program, a collaborative team of clinicians and researchers committed to advancing the treatment of addiction. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Clinical Care:
Use excellent clinical skills in addiction psychiatry in an outpatient setting in the area of substance use disorders, specifically including medication treatment for opioid, alcohol and other substance use disorders and treatment of comorbid mental health disorders.
Show a strong commitment to clinical care as well as demonstrated clinical aptitude.
Preference will be given to those with experience in academic medical center addiction and consultation settings, and those with additional consultation-liaison or research training.
Participate in or lead quality improvement and research efforts.
Engage in patient care activities with learners. (Learners include: fellows, residents, medical students, and postdoctoral fellows)
Provide mentorship and didactic teaching at the medical student, resident, fellow, and faculty levels.
Administrative duties associated with the clinical care provided.
Administrative service to the Department of Psychiatry and the Medical school, including peer review and participation on committees, may be requested. The percentage of effort spent in education, investigation and administrative activities in addition to clinical practice will be negotiated annually.

Completion of a residency in Psychiatry, and current enrollment in good standing or completion of ACGME certified Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship is strongly desirable. The candidate must be board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry and optimally should be board eligible in Addiction Psychiatry upon hire.
Applicants should hold a current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Michigan (or be eligible for licensure) and have expertise in inpatient and/or outpatient addiction psychiatry. Obtaining board certification is a requirement for retention.
