This QA Manager assures quality products and processes by establishing and enforcing quality standards, testing materials and qualifying suppliers. The Manager will provide Quality Assurance and associated support Company wide. Responsible for managing schedules, costs and resources. Participates in Engineering design reviews, IER/ECO documentation review/approvals to ensure overall products/systems meet the quality requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Establishes quality and reliability standards to ensure the overall products/systems meet the management and customers’ requirements.
Maintains/updates quality manual and updating quality assurance procedures
Ensures delivery against QA department goals and objectives.
Provides necessary definition, development and deployment of quality assurance strategy
Directly supervises Quality Engineers and Inspectors including preparation and delivery of staff performance evaluations and career development activities
Reviews documentation before it is sent out to external customers
Implements ongoing quality improvement processes working with all departments
Perform reviews, walk-throughs, or inspections as needed
Interpret and implement QA standards, while adhering to existing and create new quality assurance policies and procedures where needed
Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues
Works with Program Managers and Operation Managers to develop schedules and resource allocation models for QA related projects and other activities such as software development, customer integration, and professional services validation.
Continue to represent and enforce Comtech Systems, "ISO 9001:2015 certifications” company-wide; emphasizing the company’s commitment to quality and to provide our customers with the highest quality solid-state power amplifiers, satellite communication earth station uplink and downlink equipment, and over-the-horizon microwave communication systems.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
8 to 10 years’ experience in managing Quality Assurance for manufacturing
Must have manager and/or supervisory experience
Demonstrated experience working with manufacturers and suppliers
Quality inspection, auditing and testing experience
Experience with implementation of corrective action programs
Product or industry-specific experience
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and databases
Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA
