The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Clinical Coordinator/ Faculty maintains current knowledge of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program goals, policies, procedures and student progress; Prepares and maintains course outlines and objectives; Provides students with academic and clinical instruction, clinical supervision and oversees laboratory simulation experiences; Ensures students have access to reliable clinical facilities where quality hands-on scanning is essential within the learning concentration; Evaluates academic achievement, clinical competence and reports progress; Understands the clinical objectives and clinical evaluation system; Participates in the assessment process; Provides remediation and counseling when necessary; Contributes to periodic review and revision of academic and clinical course materials; Ensures all agency policies and procedures are followed; Maintains competency in the professional discipline and instructional and evaluative techniques through continuing professional development; Participates in student recruitment and the new student selection process.
2 year/Associate Degree in Sonography
Minimum of 4 years experience, fulltime clinical work experience in General Sonography (Abdomen, OB/GYN and Superficial Structures) required
Previous clinical and/ or didactic instructor experience in the field of general sonography preferred
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
ARDMS RDMS (AB) and RDMS (OB) Certification or ARRT (S) Certification
