The faculty in the Department of Physical Therapy maintain highly productive lines of research in the areas of cardiovascular disease, biomechanics, pediatrics and orthopedics. With currently over 1.8 million dollars in annual research expenditures and over 1,000 peer-reviewed articles on Web of Science, we are one of the most funded and published Physical Therapy Departments in the country. The primary responsibilities of the positions will entail delivering clinical services within the cardiovascular arm of our faculty practice which includes cardiac rehabilitation, clinical exercise testing and other chronic disease prevention and management services. Other duties include academic and scholarly assignments within the UIC Department of Physical Therapy as well as service on department, college and/or university committees as assigned by the Department Head.
Master’s degree in exercise science or a related field
Previous experience in delivering cardiac rehabilitation services
PhD in exercise science or a related field
Previous experience as an educator in the class, laboratory and clinical setting
Previous experience in overseeing clinical exercise tests in various patient populations
Record of scholarship (i.e., peer reviewed publications, presentations at scientific conferences, etc.)
