We are looking for an experienced Risk Management and Employee Safety professional to join our growing team. Is that you? You will partner and serve as an expert consultant to over 250 healthcare entities insured by BETA Healthcare Group. You will be responsible for reviewing, designing and supporting policy or organizational programs based on current legislation, national, statewide and local trends and make recommendations to enhance safety and mitigate risk at member organizations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Incumbent must have the skills, abilities, and judgment to perform the following essential job duties and responsibilities, with or without reasonable accommodation:
Perform onsite risk and hazard evaluations at member organizations; reviews facility programs and processes to assess loss potential
Conduct research and respond to employee and occupational safety questions posed by BETA members and insureds
Maintain a network of informational sources and experts; perform hazard and risk evaluations of member organizations to include care areas; reviews facility programs and processes to assess loss potential
Maintain risk management and employee safety statistics and files
Collect and analyze relevant data concerning employee injuries; aggregates data summaries, maintains statistical trending losses and other risk management data
Maintain awareness of legislative and regulatory activities related to healthcare risk management, industrial hygiene, and workers’ compensation
Recommend appropriate revisions to new or existing policies and procedures to members to mitigate risk
Provide in-service training to frontline staff of organization to raise awareness to current and emerging risk exposure
Support and encourage the development of colleagues
Other duties as assigned or required
Must have reliable and safe transportation to other BETA offices and business partners. Employee(s) using their own personal vehicle for business use, must maintain: a valid California driver’s license, proper vehicle registration and California’s minimum automobile insurance coverage limits
This position requires 40% travel within the state of California, Oregon and Washington
BS degree required; MS preferred
ARM, CSP, CPE or CEES preferred
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a consultant in a hospital or health system employee safety, employee health, and/or workers’ compensation
Certification in Just Culture or achieve within 12 months of hire
Proficient with MS Office: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook and MS TEAMS
Strong knowledge of healthcare terminology, human anatomy, human factors and ergonomics
Knowledge of state and federal laws governing California Workers’ Compensation and workplace safety
