The Research Strategist works across the organization to identify and execute opportunities to use research as a change tool, helping MFH and the broader field understand how individual and community health are impacted by various circumstances, policies, and programs. The Research Strategist serves as an expert consultant to internal teams on research and data-related issues and undertakes complex projects to help accomplish the Foundation’s mission and strategy.
Specific responsibilities include:
• Contribute toward developing research project ideas and manage (or support) partners and contractors to execute plans, ensuring the foundation contributes rigorous, high-quality and useful knowledge to the fields of public health, social science, and philanthropy.
• Act as the organizational lead for determining fit and appropriateness of research-related projects that are pitched to the Foundation.
• Contribute to cultivating a portfolio of research projects and overarching research agenda that contribute to the long-term vision of the foundation.
• Present and report research results to a wide-variety of audiences, and ensure stakeholders have access to data and information that inform improvements to policies, programs, and services intended to reduce health inequity and vulnerabilities among populations the Foundation seeks to serve.

Education: Master’s Degree in Public Health, Social Work or related field required; PhD preferred
Experience: Five (5) or more years of relevant work experience required. Familiarity with a wide range of quantitative and qualitative research methods and data analysis techniques applicable to work in public health, social service and/ or safety net sectors.
