Applications are invited for a full-time faculty position to join us as Chief of the Division of Infectious Disease in the Department of Pediatrics at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital at Albany Med. Qualified candidates must have completed an approved Pediatric Infectious Diseases fellowship program and be board certified. Candidates will be eligible for a faculty appointment at the Associate or Professor level, commensurate with their prior experience.
Candidates with expertise in clinical education, research, and with an interest in developing ID-related clinical services, are encouraged to apply. The new faculty member would share in inpatient consultation and outpatient ID and HIV/PrEP services. The HIV program is fully funded by the NYSDOH and contains a Specialized Care Center for the HIV care of Adolescents and Young Adults. Resident and medical student education and mentoring of learners for clinical research projects are key components of the teaching faculty responsibilities. Opportunity for research in the clinical sciences or basic sciences is encouraged but not required.
Albany Medical Center Hospital is a large academic Medical Center in Albany, New York, the state capital. It is a Level I Trauma Center and the regional hub for all adult and pediatric specialties. The Bernard and Millie Duker Children’s Hospital, which houses a 60 bed NICU, 19 bed PICU, and a new pediatric emergency department that opened in 2018, is the site of inpatient care rendered by the division.
