The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking an experienced, creative, clinical researcher to serve as CHIEF PHYSICIAN. The Chief Physician is the senior clinical advisor to the AHRQ Director and program leaders advising on the clinical aspects of health care, health services, and health systems research as they related to policy issues and research agendas. In this role the Chief Physician stimulates, coordinates, and advises on health services research and evaluation efforts, identifying gaps in the quality and safety of care delivery and proposing scientific solutions. The Chief Physician represents AHRQ on intergovernmental task forces, committees, and panels to provide health services research and health care delivery implementation expertise in support of HHS initiatives and national priorities.
