The Quality Manager leads implementation of the organization’s quality priorities, including patient outreach and progress toward value based payment. The Quality Manager provides leadership in deploying tactics and resources to successfully meet the defined quality priorities, and tracks progress toward those goals. The Quality Manager will work with Neighborcare Health departments and leaders to align quality initiatives, implement quality improvement projects, and provide feedback to clinics about performance through data. This position will also work with internal and external partners to strategize and support population health initiatives designed to improve the quality of care and health of the communities Neighborcare serves.
Manages a team that supports quality priorities; Leads and monitors patient outreach initiatives both centrally and within the clinics; Identifies opportunities to implement evidence-based protocols related to quality priorities.
Leads and implements quality improvement and process redesign projects centrally and within clinics; Knows all quality measures and contracts that the organization is held to by external organizations, remaining tuned into changes and keeping the organization abreast of them.
Manages development and monitoring of quality data internally as well as from our managed care organizations, including regular audits of this data; Provides input and guidance on the implementation of population health management tools.
Assists in developing strategies for data risk stratification; Communicates quality strategies and tactics to Neighborcare leadership on a regular basis; Creates and maintains a forum for clinics to share their best practices and quality improvement strategies.
Learn from other organization’s best practices to bring into our organization; Conducts ongoing analysis of data to assess gaps in patient care and barriers to patient care; ensuring alignment of HEDIS, UDS, Meaningful Use.
Leads the Patient-Centered Medical Home Accreditation projects and other quality accreditation programs as identified; Actively participates and is the organizational leader with managed care organizations including attending regular meetings and reviewing all updates and data with other leaders.
Attends activities and completes all reporting requirements for our participation with Healthier Here, the Accountable Community of Health for King County; Participates in additional meetings with external stakeholders, as needed.
License/Registration/Certification Preferred: WA State RN license
Experience Required: 2 years of related experience in quality, performance improvement, or related field in healthcare; experience in a clinical healthcare environment Preferred: prior experience managing teams or people; EPIC
Key Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Required:
Strong analytical and systemic thinking skills, with ability to synthesize information from multiple data sources to develop recommendations; familiarity with HEDIS data sets; Lean or Six Sigma experience; Expertise with continuous quality improvement, and developing standard workflows
Strong understanding of QI principles, such as Model for Improvement and PDSAs; Project Management expertise; Understanding of value-based payment and managed care organizations
Ability to provide training and education to staff at all levels; Well-developed written and oral communication skills; Knowledge of ambulatory electronic health records, preferably with Epic; Strong organizational skills to prioritize multiple tasks and projects under tight deadlines
Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with people of varied racial, educational, and socio-economic backgrounds as well as individuals with disabilities and contagious diseases; Willingness and ability to travel to all Neighborcare sites, as needed
