Engineering firm located in central Wyoming looking for a project engineer with 3-5 years of progressive design experience in municipal infrastructure and design of county roads. Must have a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited school and have passed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam or have successfully sat for the Professional Engineer license and able to obtain a Wyoming license within three months. Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Solid experience in Autocad Civil 3D design, excellent writing skills are a must, ESRI GIS software experience is a plus. The person must be willing to work beyond the standard 8-5 workday, as some evening meetings are required. Must enjoy meeting with people. Willingness to travel and work in remote conditions necessary.
This position is expected to learn and grow, with the possibility of advancement to a Project Manager as the employee’s skillset, knowledge, and abilities grow. The perfect candidate will be willing to assist with pursuing additional projects by proactively developing relationships with clients.
General knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering necessary for design, construction support, design review, construction surveying, planning, etc.
General knowledge of civil site surveying.
General knowledge of hydraulics of closed and open conduits such as municipal water systems design.
General knowledge of hydrology as it applies to site drainage.
General knowledge of engineering mathematics in order to perform the various job functions.
General knowledge of procedure and terminology in order to perform the various field and office job functions.
Prepare detailed plans and specifications to provide information and direction for a wide variety of civil related projects
Inspect construction projects to ensure quality control.
Analyze situations accurately to develop and adopt an effective course of action.
Use standard civil engineering instruments and equipment in order to perform a wide variety of functions required for the job.
Perform technical research work and make detailed analysis to provide direction, information on a wide variety of civil related projects.
Effectively apply interpersonal and communication techniques to transfer information and secure and maintain the respect and cooperation of others.
Consider construction costs, government regulations, and other factors in project planning stages and risk analysis
Provide cost estimates for materials, equipment, or labor to determine a project’s economic feasibility
Perform or oversee, surveying operations to establish reference points, grades, and elevations to guide construction
Present their findings to the public on technical topics
Manage the repair, maintenance, and replacement of public and private infrastructure
Excellent writing skills
