This is a professional and administrative position charged with the managing, planning, coordinating, and maintaining the County’s Solid Waste and Utilities Department to protect public health and comply with regulatory and environmental requirements. This position is responsible for assisting the Environmental Services Director with the capital improvement program, maintaining and evaluating various components and systems of the existing infrastructure and leading the County in the design of long term solutions for the County-wide solid waste operations and utilities systems. This position must respond to the Environmental Services Director, citizens, elected officials and County Administration. This is an Emergency Essential position that is required to respond as directed during local state of emergency.
The current salary range is $84,968.00 to $131,268.80, and the right candidate with the required experience and knowledge may expect a starting salary up to $119,693.00.
This is a highly technical engineering position which performs engineering tasks, modeling, design, permitting, plan reviews, and inspection of County projects and systems, and coordinates with other County Departments, contractors, and consultants. Engineering of roadway, stormwater, solid waste, traffic, transportation, utilities and/or other related services is specific to the Department and area of assignment.
The current salary range is $73,569.60 to $113,630.40, and the right candidate with the required experience and knowledge may expect a starting salary at $96,000.00.
Environmental Services Deputy Director
Education and Experience
Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering required with a minimum of eight to ten years progressively knowledgeable and responsible position in public works operations with Five (5) years minimum experience as a supervisor..
Valid Florida Driver License. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required in the state of Florida or have a PE license in another state and have the ability to acquire it within 12 months of employment.
Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Florida P.E. or equivalent out of state license with the abilty to obtain in Florida within six months, 4 years relevant exp. with PE or 2 years relevant experience with PE and a Master's Degree in a related field.
Master's Degree preferred.
