SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY - Job Summary (general statement of purpose or objective of position)
The clinical risk manager/patient safety officer is responsible for the facility's risk management activities, which includes, but may not be limited to, managing and analyzing patient safety events and visitor events, resolving complaints and grievances, and promoting patient safety within the facility through Patient Safety Committee, Safety Huddle participation, nursing practice consortiums, and communication with administrative leaders and front line staff.
Current Arkansas RN license required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing required or must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Master's degree preferred. Certified Professional Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) preferred. Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) preferred. Experience in clinical risk management preferred. Three to five years clinical practice experience in an inpatient or ambulatory care setting. Must demonstrate critical thinking skills and ability to analyze clinical data.
