The Institute of Agricultural and Nutritional Sciences of the Faculty of Natural Sciences III, Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, Germany, invites applications for a tenured
W3 Professorship (m-f-d) in “Agronomy / Organic Farming”
The position is to be filled as soon as possible. The successful applicant will represent the discipline Agronomy and Organic Farming in teaching of agricultural and interdisciplinary B.Sc. and M.Sc. programs. Experimental research in fundamental and applied agronomy should focus on the development of innovative, sustainable, and site-adapted cultivation systems. Special attention is paid to the application of modern sensor technology to optimize crop management. In-depth knowledge of crop rotation, soil cultivation and weed control is desired. Close collaborations within the Institute of Agricultural and Nutritional Sciences, with groups with related research interests at Martin Luther University and regional extramural research institutions are expected. The position includes organisation and supervision of field stations.
Applicants need to fulfill the pre-conditions of appointment as stipulated in section 35 of the Saxony-Anhalt State Law of Universities. Particular emphasis is placed on a Habilitation in the relevant field, or an equivalent level of scientific achievement and recognition. Candidates are expected to have attained the appropriate level of experience or qualification in teaching. The applicant must have an excellent record in agronomy supported by peer-reviewed publications. Further duties and responsibilities are stipulated in section 34 of the Saxony-Anhalt State Law of Universities.
