Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences is searching for a Program Director to launch a new Medical Laboratory Science program. This position will have administrative oversight and educational leadership to ensure a quality learning environment and educational program, along with managing resources and systems related to learning in the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences department and the Medical Laboratory Science program. In addition, this position will serve in a leadership role relative to the development of the Medical Laboratory Science program and coordination of the educational activities. Finally, this position is part of the Dean of Nursing & Health Sciences’ management team at the College, and therefore, will provide strategic insight for Health Science programs.

Develop and maintain quality educational programs that support students’ personal/professional and academic growth.
Foster relationships with external constituencies.
Represent Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences in the most positive manner while interacting effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students and other customers of our services.
Actively participate in recruitment, retention and advising for College programs.
Enhance personal and professional development through continuing education; encourage ongoing professional development of College staff; exercise personal competency in educational policies, technical areas of expertise, and laboratory policy.
Coordinate with students and external laboratory management and staff to meet the philosophy and learning outcomes of the MLS program and the mission of the College.
Work with Administration and Faculty to provide a climate conducive to learning for the student population in accordance with the College’s Service Commitment Statement.
Program oversight and evaluation
Provide oversight to the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences department and the Medical Laboratory Science program at Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences.
Provide leadership to support the education initiatives at Trinity College of Nursing & Health Sciences.
Lead program review and accreditation efforts.
Coordinate curriculum with academic standards.
Instruct and evaluate students in classroom, lab and clinical settings utilizing effective educational methodologies and technologies.
Coordinate student laboratory instruction while maintaining technical expertise in clinical areas of instruction.
Mentor and advise students.
Basic UPH Performance Criteria

Demonstrate ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance
Maintain current licenses and/or certifications required for the position
Practice and reflect knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA FERPA, Title IX, and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding higher education and healthcare
Complete all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year
Is knowledgeable of College, hospital and department compliance requirements commensurate with position (Title IV, Title IX, Campus Violence). Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of supervisor. Takes appropriate action on concerns reported by department staff related to compliance.

Masters required; Doctorate preferred
Previous teaching experience in Medical Laboratory Science education
ACSP-BOC or ASCPi-BDOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist required
Knowledge of education methods and administration as well as current NAACLS accreditation procedures and certification procedures.
Excellent communication skills
