Supplier Quality Engineer Ideal Candidate Profile
QTS is currently seeking an experienced, energetic, responsive and well-organized full-time Supplier Quality Engineer to provide quality assurance support for manufacturing and new product teams. They are responsible for the definition, implementation and improvement of quality related practices and procedures. They also provide technical guidance and measurement methodologies in addition to assisting in problem solving.
Supplier Quality Engineer Job Summary
Quality engineering support for manufacturing and project management. Develop inspection requirements; facilitate PFMEAs; resolve discrepant material issues and create and maintain quality document such as control plans and inspection plans. Adapt methods to non-standard applications.
Analyze data and identify improvement opportunities. Data will be the results of statistics, sampling and process capability studies. Adapt methods to non-standard applications.
Act as the quality interface for a production team in responding to customer complaints using failure analysis, development of corrective and preventative actions and trend analysis.
Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, create audit finding reports and determine proper corrective and preventative actions.
Lead moderate to large projects.
Support validation activity of processes, equipment and metrology. Create protocols and analyze data.
Supplier Quality Engineer Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree: Mechanical, Industrial, or other Engineering or Physical science.
5-7 years of experience in engineering in a machining or manufacturing setting.
3 years medical device supplier quality experience required.
Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint), ERP, Minitab and other business-related systems.
Experience with auditing.
Certified auditor or applicable experience.
Knowledge of quality systems, regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Blueprint reading and GD&T expertise.
Statistical expertise with DOE, Capability Studies, and advanced statistical analysis methods.
Excellent communication and influencing skills.
Highly detail oriented; checks own work, keeps accurate records, organizes information effectively.
Ability to travel overnight, by land or air.
Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks when needed.
Good attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Train and mentor Quality personnel.
Demonstrate leadership skills.
