Galileo Search is seeking an experienced Interim Clinical Risk Management and Patient Safety Consultant for a high-profile interim assignment in the Midwestern United States
This selected individual will work to be accountable for the development, implementation, and measurement of risk exposure and patient safety programs designed to reduce the incidence of harm in healthcare settings and claims against the facility. We seek a seasoned consultant with the necessary regulatory and subject matter expertise in Quality, Patient Safety, and Risk Management that can hit-the-ground-running.
ABOUT THE INTERIM OPPORTUNITY
Reports to the System Director of Clinical Quality and Risk Management
Knowledge of risk and patient safety standards and practices
Demonstrates leadership abilities and excellent communication
Ability to address sensitive topics in a non-punitive, learning fashion
Proven effective presentation skills
Understanding of regulatory agencies specific to hospital operations such as TJC, OSHA, HCFA, and FDA with the proficient application of risk management standards necessary for compliance functions
Working knowledge of various Microsoft applications and database concepts
Knowledge of principles of medical record documentation
Lead well-scoped complex interdepartmental and entity performance improvement projects
Assures that performance improvement projects align with established priorities for clinical quality, access, and service excellence
No FTEs but will interface with a well-trained team
Reviews patient safety events and assists with investigations
Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation, or American Society for Health Care Risk Management certificate (CPHRM) desired
Minimum of 5 years of current experience in the field of acute care Risk Management, Quality, or Patient Safety
Highly effective communication skills in various methods, verbal, written, and presentations
Available to travel to the client site and work a full-time M-F schedule
