Assisting with operations of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) for a growing research University, overseeing research involving human subjects. Assists department leadership with daily operations of the office. Manages a large volume of protocol applications, maintenance of departmental emails and phone calls, occasional training and outreach with faculty and graduate students, and providing guidance on the IRB review process and use of electronic submission system.
1. Assists leadership with administration of the Institutional Review Board
2. Provides guidance on IRB processes and related regulations to researchers
3. Manages submissions and requests from investigators
4. Coordinates IRB activities including expedited and full-board reviews
5. Assists with the review, implementation and communication of policies, procedures, documents and correspondence related to research with human participants
6. Coordinates committee meetings with knowledge and use of appropriate virtual services
7. Responsible for preparation of meeting agendas and minutes
8. Serves as the contact within the department on issues of human subjects research in the absence of the Director
9. Provides guidance to researchers in compliance related areas
10. Assists Director with quality assessment and improvement activities
11. Assists with monitoring of ongoing studies
12. Assists with investigation of allegations of non-compliance
13. Assists with administrative tasks in oversight areas of the Office of Research Compliance, such as the Institutional Animal Care & Use and Biosafety Committees, Conflict of Interest reporting, and Responsible Conduct of Research education
