Responsibilities: This position will be based in our downtown White Plains, NY, office supporting a broad range of regional, state and municipal planning and engineering projects throughout the Hudson Valley and Connecticut. As AKRF’s White Plains, NY office is currently closed due to COVID-19, the position will require remote work until the pandemic is over. Responsibilities will include: -Provide traffic planning, design, and engineering services -Prepare Plans, Specifications and Estimates for traffic signals -Perform conceptual roadway design for Complete Streets, multimodal safety, and other roadway improvements projects -Prepare or review traffic impact studies on behalf of municipalities and property developers -Manage project deliverables -Write proposals and develop and maintain client relationships -Coordinate internally with planners, engineers, scientists, ad related professionals Qualifications: -Four or more years of experience in traffic engineering design and operations -Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering -Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one -Proficiency in traffic engineering software such as HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, and/or VISSIM -Proficiency in AutoCAD or MicroStation -E.I.T. Certification or Professional Engineer registration New York or ability to obtain such -Professional Traffic Operations Engineer certification -Familiarity with signal design and NYSDOT/CTDOT standards and specifications -Project experience with NYSDOT/CTDOT and local municipalities AKRF, Inc. enforces a policy of equal employment opportunity in our daily operations.
