LRE Water (LRE) is seeking a highly motivated full-time Hydrogeologist for our Groundwater team. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 7 years of experience in groundwater services (i.e. consulting, research, or public-sector). This position will be based in our Denver, CO office.
Job Description:
Provide assistance to senior staff in areas such as:
Field investigations of aquifer characteristics, including exploratory borehole drilling oversight, lithologic logging, monitoring/test well construction oversight, and aquifer testing.
Collection of field hydrologic data including groundwater levels, water quality sampling, and surface water flow measurements.
Design, construction, and testing of municipal water supply wells.
Procurement and coordination of contractors, including well drilling contractors.
Development of groundwater flow and/or transport models, including MODFLOW models.
Automated model calibration including the use of PEST software.
Geochemistry analyses and modeling.
Geologic modeling using software such as Rockworks, Leapfrog, and/or Petra.
Data management and visualization.
Preparation of technical reports.
Assisting with issues related to water rights including Substitute Water Supply support and case opposition.
Denver basin groundwater analyses, drilling, and water rights issues.
Specific tasks may include performing technical calculations, developing tables and graphs to present data, preparing written descriptions of work tasks, and producing visual materials to support projects and reports as assigned. Work will require coordination with internal staff, clients, jurisdictional representatives, sub-contractors, and other engineering companies.
Desired Skills and Experience:
BS or MS Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Geologic Engineering; or related degree
Experience and/or knowledge in the above areas of job responsibilities, including a working knowledge of groundwater flow modeling, is helpful but not required

Proficiency in MS Office, including Word and Excel

NOTES:
Additional Salary Information: The starting salary range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000 annually with target bonus potential of 6% of annual salary. LRE reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted salary range. Employer paid benefits increase total compensation by approximately 20% and include the opportunity to earn cash incentives through our Wellness Program.
