Faculty Physician – Pediatric Anesthesiology (Assistant or Associate Professor – Academic or Master Clinician Track) The Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Minnesota Medical School seeks a full-time ABA board certified or board eligible candidate with a primary expertise in pediatrics. This position will be responsible for the leadership of the pediatric anesthesiology service as part of a team of anesthesiologists located at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, MN. About the Appointment: - Develop goals and objectives for the Pediatric Division in line with the Department Strategic initiatives.
- Lead recruitment of academic anesthesiologists for the Division.
- Work with faculty to advance the missions of the Department and grow internal and external collaborations.
- Mentor and develop faculty in education, research and clinical care, increasing academic productivity and fostering progress toward promotion.
- Monitor and ensure success of fellowship program; oversee resident and medical student education within Pediatric Division. Teaching residents and fellows is an important part of the role.
- Partner with health system staff to ensure optimization of the clinical practice including quality, standardization, peer review, productivity, performance improvement and clinical scheduling.
- Perform clinical duties as a member of the Pediatric Division and share in call responsibilities.
- Foster engagement and teamwork within and outside the Pediatric Division.

- Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.
- Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification in the State of Minnesota
- Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
- Prior leadership, mentoring and team building experience
- Strong clinical background with demonstrated excellence in teaching and clinical excellence in Pediatric Anesthesiology.
- Track record of funded research a plus, including clinical trials as well as high-impact peer-reviewed publications
Preferred Qualifications: - Formal fellowship training or significant experience in pediatric anesthesiology is preferred.
