Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position open for an experienced water resources engineer to join our transportation team. Responsibilities include serving as the project manager for transportation related projects; overseeing budgets and schedules for various size projects; developing and maintaining client contacts; reviewing and leading proposals including scope, pricing, and financials; mentoring junior staff; leading QA/QC reviews. Travel will be required.
The successful candidate will have all of the following:
a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil or environmental engineering;
at least eight years of relevant work experience; and
a PE license in any state with ability to obtain in Maryland within six months of start date
The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:
Experience in Drainage, Storm water Management and Erosion and Sediment Control designs and calculations
Experience with the following software programs: MicroStation and/or Autocad, TR-20, TR-55, HY-8, Hec Ras
Familiarity with Maryland Department of Environmental (MDE) Permitting Requirements
Familiarity with District Department of Energy Permitting Requirements
Experience in Mid-Atlantic Area to include MD, DC and VA and local governments
Experienced with report writing as relates to transportation projects
Experience attending client meetings
Experience with proposal writing
Experience with stream restoration, bridge hydraulics and flood plain analysis
