Cooley Dickinson Health Care in Northampton, Massachusetts is currently seeking candidates for the position of Director, Quality and Infection Control. The Director, Quality and Infection Control works collaboratively throughout our organization to design and optimize quality and patient safety programs in order to achieve organizational goals and help us provide the best care possible for the communities we serve. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, the Director will work closely with the Medical Director of Quality, department leaders, physicians, and front line caregivers to develop shared plans to better utilize metrics, create cascading scorecards, improve communication, and spread a culture of continuous improvement throughout the Cooley Dickinson Health Care system.
Essential to the position's effectiveness is institutionalizing national best practices, establishing clinical metrics, and ensuring data integrity, statistical analysis, and evidence based "bundles", "tool kits," and "pathways" are in place to reduce patient harm and improve quality. The Director provides oversight for external quality reporting, peer review, and infection prevention. The position also promotes and helps deploy a non-punitive, non-retaliatory response to adverse and near-miss event reporting in support of an open, transparent, and just culture of patient safety.

The ideal applicant would have:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), MSW degree, or RN/MSW
Current Massachusetts licensure to practice as a nurse or social worker
Previous quality and risk management experience
Demonstrated excellence in leadership skills, supervision, written and oral communication
Demonstrated proficiency using electronic medical records and other software (i.e. MIDAS, eDischarge, Affinity/Eclipsys, Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) required
