The Levitt Lab at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Division of Research on Children, Youth, and Families (CHLA DRCYF) is seeking a talented and motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to participate in several longitudinal research studies investigating adversity and resiliency in infancy and early childhood. The lab uses biomarkers, surveys and questionnaires, eye-tracking and social, emotional and cognitive child assessments to study the effects of risk and resilience. Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
A Ph.D. degree in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field is required.
Expertise in developmental measures and assessments of infants and toddlers.
Experience collecting and analyzing eye-tracking data is preferred but not required.
Expertise in data processing and management, longitudinal statistical analyses, and programming (e.g. Matlab, R).
Strong quantitative skills, including longitudinal data analysis, and has worked with statistical packages that handle missing data
Candidates are also expected to have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including interpreting, visualizing, and communicating results from analyses, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
Conduct collaborative research activities with others in the clinical research group and the Principal Investigator. The research fellow will participate in all levels of the research investigation, including experimental design, data collection and processing, use of established data analysis and exploring novel strategies, grant and manuscript preparation. Duties will also include participation in regularly scheduled in-person and/or virtual meetings, seminars, and trainings with study staff, and other tasks as assigned by the PI and projects manager. Some training and supervision of research assistants will be required.
