The Association of Clinicians for the Underserved (ACU) is adding to its team! ACU is a fast-growing organization filled with mission-driven people committed to improving the health of America’s underserved populations and supporting the clinicians serving these populations. We’re looking for someone equally committed to that cause who can help support ACU’s National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Pipeline Readiness Initiative. The PCS will assist in developing and implementing educational products and materials to prepare NHSC participants in their placement sites and benefit the sites by increasing quality of care, care delivery, and retention rates. These products will strengthen overall resiliency, resourcefulness, and well-being of NHSC participants while simultaneously providing practical tools to help them understand their community’s health care delivery system as well as social needs and strengths.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, proficient in time management, and possess excellent interpersonal communication skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in meeting facilitation, adult learning principles and modalities, and workforce matters such as clinician resiliency, pipeline development, and community partnerships to address social determinants of health. The ACU offices are located in Washington, DC
Duties and Responsibilities
Development of Educational Products and Materials:
Research and identify credible literature and resources to inform the development of educational materials for the delivery of high quality multidisciplinary care for underserved populations including addressing health disparities, engaging in community partnerships, supporting provider resiliency
Work with ACU members and others in its network to identify examples of real-life scenarios in working with underserved populations and organizational and payment structures to support more effective delivery of care
Work with subject matter experts to develop resources on topics such as health disparities, social determinants of health, value-based payment models, and provider resiliency
Develop supporting documents and training aids in a variety of formats including, but not limited to infographics, learning vignettes, resource compendiums, PowerPoint presentations, and more.
Develop agendas for virtual trainings
Implementation of Tools and Tactics:
Lead virtual trainings on the use of educational materials and resources
Provide support for virtual events including presentation development and session moderating
Support evaluation of training effectiveness
Assist in the development of a mentorship program for the NHSC pipeline
Assist in identification and pairing of NHSC mentors and mentees
Serve as a liaison to NHSC scholars, coaches, and mentees
Other Projects as Needed
Qualifications for Position
BA or BS degree preferred – Experience may be subsitutued for a degree
Familiarity with health disparities, social determinants of health, value-based care, provider resiliency, and/or supporting the health professions pipeline
At least 2 years of experience designing educational materials for adult learners
At least two-years experience in providing trainings for adult learners
At least 2 years of experience in working with federally qualified health centers preferred
Commitment to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Proficiency with G-Suite programs
Strong team collaboration and interpersonal skills
