The Syngenta Analytics and Data Sciences team is seeking a Systems Modeler, that has expertise in mathematical modelling that will help conceptualize, construct, describe, and predict systems. As a Systems Modeler, you will be instrumental in the development of new analytics capability to address the challenge of complex systems analysis and prediction within a global function and a multi-disciplinary team including biostatisticians, data scientists, and modelers on cross-functional projects.

You will help transform digital agriculture by:

• Analyzing the properties and behaviors of systems - their complexity, emergence, spontaneous order, self-organization, and adaptation

Accountabilities

• Develop Scenario simulations for supporting complexity management and business decisions
• Ensure applied mathematics tool prototyping, optimize analytics, workflows, and ensure proper documentation
• Contribute to the development of internal standardized analytics processes and actively scout the algorithms landscape for complex systems
• Contribute to leverage analytics solutions into enterprise with special focus on Research and Development projects
• Closely interact with data scientist community from other internal functions and create connection and networks with external collaborators in applied mathematics area

Requirements

• PhD in Applied Mathematics, Mathematical Modeling or Data Science
• 2+ years’ experience in functional modeling, systems analysis, process modeling combining with multidisciplinary data exploitation, data analysis, predictive science and decision science preferably in life science within a complex project environment
• Significant skills in computer programming (Object Oriented and Agent Based Methodologies, Object Process Methodology, SysML, SoaM)
• Highly developed skills in in Applied Mathematics
• Professional experience in data integration and the appreciation of the value of data

• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams with an enthusiastic, energized, and collaborative spirit
• Learning agility, scientific curiosity with a problem-solving mindset
• Successful experience in complex projects using Agile management
• Ability to communicate succinctly with various audiences
