Description: With a technical background and experience in water resource engineering, the Water Resources Design Engineer will be responsible for supporting water, wastewater, and stormwater design projects as part of a design team, ensuring quality and timely completion of projects. Tasks may include utility infrastructure main design, pumping station design, regulatory and municipal permitting, treatment plant design, watershed analysis and drainage design, and all other projects and tasks assigned by the Water Resources Team Leader.
Responsibilities: Perform broad, varied, and diverse engineering design tasks and calculations on assigned projects under general supervision, including engineering drawings, reports, technical specifications, and applications to regulatory and/or funding agencies Proficiency with the execution of planning, design, bidding, and construction administration phases of water resources projects, including document preparation Prepare cost opinions and write technical documents Work with engineering and surveying support staff Awareness of Project Budget and Scoping Learn and utilize other engineering programs as necessary
Skills: Ability to make engineering decisions Understanding of application processes for regulatory and funding agencies is desired Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills Highly organized and attentive to detail Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks, while meeting budget and schedule constraints Microsoft Office Suite and general computer operation proficiency AutoCAD Civil 3D Proficiency including pump station design, system modeling, stormwater design, collection system and distribution/transmission main design, general knowledge of treatment plant design, and various water resource tasks (desired
