Epic Land Solutions, a right of way consulting firm, is recruiting for an experienced GIS Analyst in Southern California, focus on Riverside County. The GIS Analyst (“analyst”) supports large scale infrastructure projects with real estate analytics as needed by agents, project managers, and clients. The analyst:
Collaborates with engineers to interpret CAD designs
Builds and manages the GIS of real property impacts caused by public works
Works with appraisal, utility, and right of way staff to support cost estimation, create map exhibits, and contribute to technical reports.
GIS professionals with right of way, land development, urban planning, local government, public works, or transportation experience are encouraged to apply. Ideal candidate has experience working in a right of way, survey, engineering, or construction firm. ROW plat maps design a plus.
Responsibilities:
Analyze right of way impacts of proposed infrastructure projects
Support environmental impact analysis (right of way and related CEQA/NEPA technical reports)
Support right of way cost estimates
Maintain GIS data for organization and administrate Microsoft SQL Server back-end
Develop and deploy web maps and produce cartographic PDF maps in support of property management and infrastructure projects
Perform a variety of geospatial tasks such as intersect, dissolve, merge, join, project, and repair
Draft and complete written technical reports that summarize the findings of the GIS and real estate analysis; Share insight with internal teams and external clients
Work with Sales/Marketing and Business Development departments to support inbound contract opportunities and function as the GIS technical lead for new contract teaming opportunities with engineering primes
Work with IT department to deploy and implement GIS cloud storage back-end and migrate GIS data to cloud server
Maintain frequent communication with internal and external client teams to coordinate deliverable statuses, action items, and risks
Compile and/or present well-organized documentation pertaining to geospatial applications, workflows/processes, and analysis results
Technological innovation and remaining on the forefront of GIS best practices
Requirements:
Highly proficient in use of GIS-related software, products, and services to include experience with ESRI software, specifically ESRI ArcGIS Desktop 10.8.1, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS for Server, and ArcGIS Web App Builder
GIS Application Experience to include Web App Builder, Collector, Field Maps, or Survey 123 within the ArcGIS Online Platform or Portal
Strong Excel skills, including experience in data manipulation and pivot tables
BA, BS or AAS in GIS or Geography, plus two years’ work experience
Can substitute five years of GIS experience in an analyst role plus GIS coursework
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to organize work, establish priorities, meet deadlines, and follow up on assignments with minimal direction

Knowledge of spatial reference systems and experience with georeferencing data (e.g., CAD data, orthophotos, PDF exhibits, etc.)
Read and interpret legal descriptions, plot descriptions with COGO mapping tools
