Banner Health is currently seeking a Health and Wellness Program Coordinator responsible for the Banner Neuro Wellness West program in Sun City, Arizona. Banner Neuro Wellness is a program complementary to current medical treatments and therapies for individuals and families who are affected by Parkinson???s disease and other neurological conditions.??Patients and families participating in Banner Neuro Wellness can enjoy a sense of community, increased socialization and ultimately, a higher quality of life. The importance of exercise and physical activity for people diagnosed with Parkinson???s disease (PD) has been well documented. Exercise produces many benefits including increased physical functioning (motor performance, strength, endurance), improved gait and balance, cardiovascular fitness, and overall better quality of life.?? As such, great strides are being made to make exercise a part of the standard treatment of PD.
The Health and Wellness Program Coordinator is responsible for developing the curriculum and instructing exercise classes, education, and workshops in-person and virtually including new members??? assessments and program recommendations. Programs include; Parkinson???s Wellness Recovery, PWR! classes, Coffee Talk Parkinson???s Support Groups, as well as PDLER (Parkinson???s disease Learning and Education) and DBS classes.
The primary location for this role will be at Banner Sun Health Research Institute (10515 W Santa Fe Dr) and will be on-site and virtually. Program hours of operation are during business hours (M-F, 8AM to 5 PM).?? This position will start as a part-time position with schedule flexibility as the program evolves. ??An ideal candidate includes Certified Personal Trainers, Group Fitness Instructors, PTs, PTAs, OTs, COTAs, and individuals holding a 2- or 4- year degree in a health, exercise science, recreation, or physical activity-related field who have at least two years or experience. PWR! certification and experience working with the geriatric population is a plus.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for developing, implementing, performing, coordinating, and evaluating a wide range of health promotion activities and programs for targeted populations.
CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Develops, coordinates and performs facility based health promotion services, activities, and programs including, screenings, health risk assessment, educational presentations and classes, intervention programs, outreach activities, and alliances to enhance community and business networks.
2. Schedules and prioritizes service/client requests to contribute to efficient and cost effective operations. Demonstrates proper materials management skills and purchasing procedures.
3. Represents hospital and hospital-based services to internal & external publics, creating appropriate referrals and cross-selling opportunities for all service lines.
4. Works collaboratively with other health promotion coordinators and wellness staff in the development, implementation and evaluation of health and wellness program designs and scheduling of program events.
5. Provides leadership, consultation, budgeting input, education and planning services to the organization.
6. Executes administrative duties including independent decision making in the delivery of services and assisting in the management of Massage Therapists, Wellness Specialists and/or other local instructors and health professionals.
7. May be assigned to supervise staff.
8. May be responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation and evaluation of the DSME program. Serves as a liason for the program between the staff, the Advisory Group, and other departments. Maintains ADA recognition and participates in the evaluation of the program's effectiveness.
9. Works independently under general supervision. Manages all aspects of the wellness programs at assigned facilities and holds responsibility for all related acility-based operations. Customers are both internal and external to the organization. Assists in department budget development and is accountable for monthly financial performance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires knowledge typically obtained with completion of a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Corporate Recreation, Health Promotion/Wellness or a related field.
Must have three or more years of experience in the health promotion/occupational health area in addition to experience in conducting fitness and occupational health screens, program planning, development, coordination and evaluation. Demonstrated leadership success in activities such as program development or management activities is required.
Must be able to work effectively with all common office software.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior supervisory and leadership experience is preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
