About AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety
For more than 70 years, the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety has been true to its mission to prevent traffic deaths and injuries by conducting research into their causes and by educating the public about strategies to prevent crashes and reduce injuries when they do occur. Since 1947, the Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has created many important studies and educational tools involving multiple major traffic safety issues and, as a result, has long been recognized as a leader in the field. Drawing on both in-house resources and the work of leading experts around the world, the Foundation’s work generates concrete recommendations for preventing crashes, injuries and deaths on our roads. In addition, research findings from the Foundation have helped to strengthen laws, build public awareness of safety concerns and trends, inform automakers on safety design issues, and advise transportation agencies on vital roadway improvements.
