The Technology Research and Analysis Department is responsible for working with Operations to identify, evaluate and analyze technology trends and developments that impact how the company provides electricity and gas, as well as technology developments that impact how customers utilize LG&E and KU services.
Participate in collaborative research projects in engineering, renewable energy, energy storage, energy management, and customer electrification. Participate in engineering evaluations and feasibility studies on new and emerging technologies.
Communicate results of research projects through technical reports and presentations.
Collaborate with universities and research institutions engaged in activities of interest to LG&E and KU.
Supports staff engagement with the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI).
Performs other duties as directed by management.
ABET Accredited Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Candidates must possess knowledge and ability to articulate science theory and application of emerging technologies, and the implications to the energy industry with emphasis on feasibility, operation and economics.
Candidates must have functional experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Products, modeling and database management software. Strong technical writing, public speaking, communication and project management skills are essential.
