The role you’ll contribute:
The Rehab Quality Assurance Coordinator is recognized as a key clinical position on the Rehabilitation Unit. The Coordinator assumes the responsibility of gathering Clinical data, encoding data on the Inpatient Rehab Facility-Patient Assessment Information; coding for appropriate diagnostic classification for billing; and transmitting data to Medicare in a timely manner. This position is responsible for ensuring that the rehabilitation unit remains in compliance with Medicare requirements as well as Joint Commission standards at all times. The coordinator will audit charts for proper documentation, Functional Independence Measurement Scale scoring and medical necessity. In addition, the coordinator will educate staff on Medicare regulations, Functional Independence Measurement Scale scoring, yearly mandatory requirements and plan in-services. Working with the medical records department, the Coordinator will ensure proper coding to maximize appropriate reimbursement. New team members will receive orientation and education from the quality coordinator as well. The coordinator will also lead quality improvement initiatives and ensure department educational materials are current

- Accurate completion of the IRF-PAI
- Keeps management apprised of regulatory issues and CMS compliance status
- Works with medical director and admissions team to facilitate admissions
QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
PREFERRED:
- CDI (clinical documentation integrity) experience
REQUIRED:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, or
- Allied Health degree with three (3) years of experience working in an acute inpatient rehab facility
- RN, LPN, PT, OT, ST
- Three years clinical experience in acute inpatient rehabilitation facility
- Current license in the State of Florida
- Valid BCLS or completion within 90 days of hire
